S.J. Poyton has had the privilege of working in independent, second-hand, and museum bookshops, doing grassroots bookselling — matching books to readers with a holistic approach. She has helped with author events in schools, at The Oxfordshire Book Awards, and at The Federation of Children’s Book Groups Conference, as well as reading many proofs and assisting with POS and window displays.

All of this has been a marvellous education and has given S.J. a deep appreciation of bookselling and the important role booksellers have in inspiring children to pick up books and grow their love of reading.
